Ok so I have been offers a lj50 for $500 problem is it has a seized engine how hard are these to rebuild it will need a top and bottom end rebuild and what sort of money would I be looking at will be doing the rebuild my self thanks Tom |

Very easy to rebuild, but no idea on costs nowdays sorry. First thing I would do is drop the thing into a tub of diesel/kero mix and let it soak for a few days whilst you start researching parts etc. This will make it much easier to clean and disassemble, and reduce the likelihood of stripped studs etc. |

Even the crank as I have herd that they are a pain to do and are the parts hard to find |

nothing is impossible, it all comes down to cost and what your willing to pay. me I'll happily spend on engine parts (pistons, rings, cam, rocker gear etc..) but I build all my own motors, that was when they chuck a rod/run a bearing, I'm the only one to blame. Personally I wouldn't rebuild an LJ50 motor as they are so SLOW that they are not really usable anymore, on todays roads. and if your just going to use it around the farm, unless the car has a working engine, then a re-power is the cost efficient alternative. if you "hell-bent" on rebuilding the two-stroke, talk to an out-board motor mechanic, these are possibly the last people that have first-hand experience with totally rebuilding two-strokes and incidentally there are some crossover parts on the LJ50 engine and some Suzuki out-boards. |

Ok thanks for the advice I would love to rebuild a two stroke suzuki. So might look in to some prices |

Such a shame the kid has changed his mind and is now going to wreck it to get more money |
