Post subject:  1995 Sierra Mods
Hey all,
am wanting to start adding some modifications to my stock 1995 sierra, and am going to start with tyres and a lift. Ive done abit of reading on here and have decided that im not wanting to too heavily modify, just the standard upgrade. thats why im more so leaning towards the OME 40mm lift (they seem to be the closest thing to stock while adding some height for the tyres) along with some 215 T/A tyres, (and possibly a rear air locker further down the track)
would the stock springs fit the 215 tyres if i were to put the tyres on first?
would having 215 cause much problems to the clutch/gearing/engine??
and where can i buy OME lift spring kit in brissy?? cant find it on arb or even OME website??
what are some good recommendations for tyres?? sierra is my current daily driver

215/75 tyres fit fine on the stock wheels with no other mods. They wont scrub anywhere or cause you any problems. The speedo and gearing will be thrown out a bit. There were actually tyres larger than this fitted stock to some Sierras.

I run Khumo KL71s in a 215/75 on my Sierra and I've been really pleased with them. They're quiet, handle well and have held up great. For me the only downside is they're quite average on sand.

Drop into an ARB store and they'l sort you out for the springs. FWIW I tried to buy OME springs from an ARB Osborne Park (w.a) years back, I provided the part numbers of what I needed and they were extremely rude and unhelpful. I ended up buying a second hand set of springs.

OME springs and 215’s is a good starting point. Gearing will be ok for moderate terrain.

Just to clarify, suspension lift doesn’t provide room for bigger tyres, it only changes the static/rest position of the suspension, so, as sideways pointed out, 215’s fit with standard springs.
