Hard to get out, had to let the radiator hang by the hoses. I bought a secondhand one from Des at Birtech Motors at Edmonton for $110.oo. It had light brown water and oil in it, I put some grease in.
1. I adjusted it so that I could turn it by hand whilst it was out, but when bolted on it was too loose. I've tightened it up twice, but still n o better then the one I replaced. It all felt tight. I had to pull the top off to get the grease in. How tight do you do the adjustment ?.
2. That steering arm with the three ball joints. Can they be replaced, or do I have to get a new arm ?.

P.S. It's steel cogs inside, I always thought there was a brass spiral. That adjustment just pushes one cog further into another.

Just bite the bullet and buy new:

I finally did that a few years ago and the difference is AMAZING and worth every cent.

Crank it up then back off 1/4 of a turn.
If it doesnt work have someone wiggle the steering wheel while you adjust. If its too tight then wont want to return to center when you turn

OK that worked good enough. Tyre pressure had a bit to do with it, all different ranging from 7psi to 19.

I really need a new drag link, if that's what it's called. Can I buy the three ball joints ?. An old fitter across the creek can fit anything.
