Hi all, I'm Ken and my first foray into the forums. Daughter has just bought a 2015 SWB GV auto and we are looking at making it a little more capable off road. We pinched my wife's 4 door GV for a camping trip in Sundown National Park and found it needs some under body protection. Next some tyres, then a mild lift kit! I don't have the facilities to make a bash plate, so do you know if the Ironman 2005 plate would fit or me modifiable (within reason) to fit the 2015 SWB? |

IRONMAN have the plates for the GV3 I’ve moved the exhaust to over the diff, deleted the rear muffler and placed another next to the transmission |

Thanks Slug. I've found and ordered the Ironman 2005 to 2015 bash plate. It doesn't go back as far as the diff so a bit of custom work to do. I'll sure check out your suggestions re exhaust and muffler. Any chance you could post or send me a couple of pics of your setup and the details of the muffler you used? I expect you had to be careful of heat shielding too. |

Well done Slug, on relocating the exhaust to run over the diff!. It is very vulnerable & on the 3.2litre V6 we worked on the most, I just didn't think there was room to split it into 2 or 3 smaller pipes to get it up & over without more restriction. Rgs, Michael |

I looked at the ironman ones but jeez they are heavy and overkill for my 2013 SWB I did this instead and took the plate from further forwards to the very back of the subframe to shield radiator and entire front diff viewtopic.php?f=14&t=55797 so far i've smashed it very very hard on rocks including getting the front wheels off the ground on a boulder that shifted, no bending but some scratching |

Excellent work Bob. Did you do anything with the muffler? I’ve been thinking of finding a round one that doesn't hang down as far as the oval standard one. |

Not sure if Ironman fits the SWB as I have a LWB, but I've currently taken my plates off until I can straighten them again. The transfer case plates bends too easily. |

Ironman deffinately fits the SWB, we just installed it. Unfortunately the radiator plate seems to be no longer available. We’ll be taking it easy so it should be adequate. Haven’t raised the car yet. Exhaust man couldn’t do anything with the rear muffler without “making it significantly louder” ☹️ |

Hi bob_oz, what fuel economy do you get out of your car? We haven't changed the tyres from stock, but the SWB seems to be quite a bit more thirsty than my wife's LWB? |
