Hi all, this is my first post, I'm here in England and am looking for engine options that will bolt up to a Cappuccino gearbox. I'm giving my old Ford 100E Popular a transplant but rather then use the 3 cylinder turbo Cappuccino engine I would prefer a larger capacity N/A engine from something like a Swift. So I'm wondering where I should be looking to find something (if anything) that will bolt up to the standard Cappuccino gearbox Any help and info greatly appreciated Thanks, Lee |

I've heard of people using the G13B from the Swift GTi mated to the five speed manuals from the Samurai for transplants into the Midget/Sprite series... Take a look at this page |

Thanks Fordem, just had a look at the link, some interesting stuff on there - do you know if the SJ/Samurai gearbox is in any way similar to the Cappuccino box? It's just that I already have a Cap gearbox that I can use. Thanks, Lee |

Nothing other than an f5a or F6a will bolt to a cappuccino gearbox that I am aware of. There are a couple of f10 variants used in late model vehicles (wagon r and alto) that just might but don’t expect much joy there. If you have an F6a don’t rule that out at all. They are a very durable and tunable engine. I’d say the same if you have a K6a motor from a very late cappuccino. The Kei engines run a tiny clutch and flywheel and therefore have a much smaller bellhousing bolt pattern than the g/m series engines. |
