Hi all,

Having some difficulty finding a pedal pad to suit the accelerator pedal. Got a metal aftermarket one at the moment that has no rubber on it so was pinged for roadworthy. I can find the brake and clutch no worries but not the accelerator.

Just rang suziworld and he is telling me the SJ70 didn't have a pedal pad from factory which might well solve my problem  . What I need from you guys is a picture of a stock accelerator pedal that I can compare with whatever is behind the metal one that's on there now and if it's the same I can show the RWC place as I suspect they may still ark up over it.

Is there a typical aftermarket one that people run that I can get at short notice? Looking at eg the Sparco metal set from Supercheap the screw holes look like they'd sit out too wide, current ones are three holes vertically in the middle. Worst case I guess I'll send the wife up to suziworld to grab the pad off an SJ80 (may need to anyway as I suspect they won't be happy with holes drilled into it but we'll see how we go).

TIA

100%, the sierra never had a rubber on the pedal pad for the accelerator. This comes up all the time at RWC and mechanics have people tearing their hair out trying to find one when one never existed. I am not aware of any generic replacement that fits well. I've seen some people find some loosely fitting pads but these seem less safe than no pad.

I've put grip tape on mine, not for RWC, just for preference with wet boots.

here are the accelerators from three of the four Sierras at my place currently. no pedal pads on any of them. It's fascinating that mechanics think the accelerator pad vanishes but the brake and clutch pads never do....

Grip tape is a great idea actually, will hide the holes too!

Does a 96-98 coily Sierra pedal rubber fit? They definitely had rubber on the pedal.

Suziworld said yeah it should if the RWC place are still giving us grief. They told me they'd be happy with it so I'll prob chuck one on when I have a longer list of parts that I need from em.

Ended up putting grip tape on the metal accel pedal (rubber pads for the others) as I like the larger contact area. RWC place said they'd be happy with that.
