Just wondering what parts are needed to put G13b motor into a Sierra. Won’t ever be going on the road again.

A lack of common sense. The G13b is a tonne of work to fit and if it’s not going on the road car why bother? People choose the g13B becuae the rocker cover is red. Or blue, and they can pretend they don’t need engineering approval for registration. Build a better car and put a baleno G16b in it. It’s next to no more work but is massively better.

My mistake, the motor is a G16b, so I will ask the question again.
The doaner motor is in a 1992 auto swift (Carb), so what are needed as in cooling system ect?

Thanks for the candid answer.
My mistake, I will ask the question again.
I have a 1992swift with a G16b carby engine, what is needed for a swap into 1990 JX 1.3 Sierra in regards to cooling and mounting?

Are you sure it’s a G16B? I though the Swift’s were all 1.3 but I could be wrong.

In either case if the original motor is cactus then I’d look for a replacement Sierra G13A or G13BA if the Swift isn’t a direct replacement. Sierra motors can be fairly inexpensive if you don’t jump at the first one you find. Guys are asking stupid money for them on gumtree but there is more reasonably priced ones about still.

An engine conversion (assuming it would take a bit to do, I’m not certain on this one) which wouldn’t be expected to give you any gains seems to not quite make sense. What are your reasons for considering the conversion?

I thought all swift G16Bs were throttle body EFI or MPFI, not carb, but regardless, That's a complete pain of a swap. You'll need a G16B vitara camshaft/distributor/distributor housing which might causes issues as it's designed for EFI, so maybe you'll need to make a drive adapter on the back of the cam to run a G13 Sierra distributor like Phil (jonno racing) did when he built a carry G16B. Also figure on a modified thermostat housing, along with lots of fiddly work, extractors or vitara exhaust manifold, and from memory there's issues with the position of the throttle body on the manifold. You'll also want a Vitara fan. Some parts you can salvage from the 1.3 like engine mounts, sump, oil pickup.

There was (is?) a kit to adapt swift throttle body EFI to sierra carby manifolds, this might provide some clues about distributor compatibility.

Obviously along with a 1.6 conversion kit for the gearbox and engine mount location.

Not worth the effort in my opinion, but each to their own.

sounds like a fair bit of pain for not much gain.
I have had the Sierra parked up as I was having a lot of trouble with the carby, won’t idle, surges ,ect. I’ve sent the carb away 3 times to so called experts,cost money for nothing. Being over 1300km from Brisbane and not being registered makes it a bit hard. Sounds like it would be easier to find a written off vitara or jimminy

Pissed off with the 1.3 and have a good G16b motor sitting doing bugger all.

You might want to "recheck" that carburetor - a 1992 1.6 Swift would be an SF416-2 and whilst it was supplied with a single choke carb in some markets, as far as I can tell Australia only got throttle body injection. Comments above on the distributor will still apply.

On a different note - a Toyota carb on the Sierra might solve your problems.

I stand corrected. The Swift has throttle body injection. I bought it last weekend for $100, got a permit and drove I it 160 km home. Bought it mainly for my daughter for a bit of clay pan circle work :D
