Hi guys, Quick question regards my transnision leaks oil from the top where the gearstick enters the box. Is this common? And can it be fixed? Also could it leak out the shifter bolt which stops the gearstick from rotating as this bolt thats in it doesnt look factory. Reason I ask is it is hard to see where the leak is coming from and I know its not from the output shaft. Regards, Tim |

Yes, they can leak from the shifter if the rubber boot is damaged. It's most common on very steep climbs. Why doesn't the bolt look factory? regardless, it shouldn't leak from there as that bolt does up tight and will be leakproof once properly installed. |

I do a lot ot steep driving. The reason the bolt doesnt look right, us that it seems very long and has heaps of thread showing. I might put some thread locker on it to seal it up and rule that out |

Showing from where? There should be basically no thread showing. The bolt gets done all the way up and leaves a stud inside the shift housing that the slot in the shifter ball engages with. |
