Hey guys quick question about a w/t swap into my sj40. I have the diffs modified rebuild and on the chassis with new suspension and I'm happy with it so far. Just wanting to confirm what I need to as far as driveshaft flanges go. Is this correct: A 1.3 transfer case handbrake assembly, drive shaft flanges front and rear at the diff end? Cheers guys. Will have to post some progress pics on the build thread soon!

Leave what's on the diff in place. If you were going to change the driveshaft flanges, the time to do it was when the diffs were being rebuilt, as you need to check pinion preload once the flange has been off, and in accordance with the FSM this requires a new crush sleeve.

If you have a late SJ40 transfer with the 4WD light, you can install a NT 1.3 rear handbrake drum and swap the yokes around so you have NT 1.3 on the transfer end and whatever you have on the diff end (WT?) all 1.3 yokes and unis are compatible so you can just assemble what you need using whatever 1.3 parts are required.

Thsnks for the reply steve. Just wanting to clarify further. I have a 4wd light transfer. I only have the original 1l drive shafts. I need to get 1.3 driveshafts and just change the bits on the transfer case?
