Hi everyone I am having problems with my drovers dimmer switch. When the switch is in the low beam position, the high beam light is on. When it is in the high beam position the high beam indicator is off. The headlights work normally. Cheers Gus |

Check the headlight fuses - there are two, one for each headlight. Is this the vehicle that you replaced the switch with a Sierra one and had to do some re-wiring? What are the chances of the wiring being incorrect? |

There's only one fuse but I checked all the headlight related fuses and none were blown. this is the car that I had to do some rewiring on so i will check the wiring today. |

Let me start by saying I know NOTHING about Holden Drovers, but I've been led to believe they are rebadged Suzuki Sierras, I also have the FSM which I offered you, and that shows the headlamp wiring to be very similar if not identical to what I expect a Sierra to have - so two headlight fuses. I suggest you look at the headlight connectors - if I'm right you'll see a three wire connector, red, red/white on both headlights, and white/red to one, white/blue to the other - if this is what you find, there are two headlight fuses. With both connectors disconnected from the headlights measure the voltage from battery negative to the white/blue & white/red wires, if you don't get battery voltage on those wires, there's a blown fuse, a broken wire, or somebody has butchered the wiring, and for what it's worth, those wires don't go through the column switch. |

Let me ask you this - how do you know whether it's the high beams or the low beams that are on? If it's from the position of the switch stalk, you may have the wiring incorrect. Let me also say this - you're asking for assistance & guidance, I'm not here into get into an argument, I've made a number of suggestions on where you can look for the problem you're experiencing, and those suggestions are based on experience & familiarity with Suzuki vehicles and how they work. Feel free to ignore them. |

I know that the high beams are on because the light is projected further than when the stalk is in the other position. Sorry if i came over as aggressive. I'm not looking for a fight. |
