G'day guys, There appear to be a couple of companies importing 1997 Jimnys with 660c engines into Queensland with automatic transmissions. Couple of examples: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-qld/suzuki ... k0l3008841 https://sunnyimports.com.au/buy/1992-su ... _x60zJ5gKA I'm wondering how well / badly the 660c engine (especially if it's turbocharged?) with a factory auto transmission would perform with a 2inch suspension lift and 30-inch tyres? I guess in comparison to a good condition SJ70 5-speed with the same modifications. Any info would be great, it's difficult to find much info on these. Thanks for putting up with a total novice. |

At a glance I can’t see any on your gumtree link, but the one in the import yard is a pre 1996 car as it’s F6a and leaf sprung. This model runs a 3 speed auto. I don’t have experience with the 3 speed but I did own an f6a for some time. I don’t think they would be great with the three speed- they need to be worked very hard as the boost threshold is ~3k. These cars are very low geared in standard form. They also have a number of unique parts. Post 1996 the K6a is a substantially better motor. |
