Has anyone had any experience replacing the window track rubbers ? I mean the ones that run around the inside of the window frame that the glass slides up and down on and seals the glass when the window is shut . It seems mostly straight forward apart from the fact the rubbers go right down into the door . Just wondering if anyone knows how to replace them ? Can it be done without pulling the glass out or the door apart ? Cheers . |

Yeah I've done it a few times. Easy job, nothing really to it. You can sneak it around the glass with some silicone spray and stuffing around. It's much easier to just pull the window. |

I grabbed the rubber with the window half down and the door card off and pulled it out, if it run tight getting it out of the track it is in move the glass up or down. From there I took the complete rubber with me to a "Pick a Part" remove your own car parts place and walked around until I found the same shape and length and found one from a Nissan Tiida, I think it was. I paid very little for it and took it home and lined up the one crucial corner and slid it in, around the window frame - works fine now. The only issue was getting the rubber seal out in the first place but a sharp flat screw driver and pliers grabbed it |
