| Post subject: | g13a pistons? Rebuild |
I have 2 x G13a engines to make one for my mg410. one engine has dished pistons with a g13a head. the other engine has flat top pistons and a G16 head. It appears both engines are Std bore. The flat top pistons appear serviceable. Are they ok to use with the g13a head?? could I use any combination of the above?? thx. |

I've run flat topped high compression pistons in what is known as the G13BA (in a SF413 Swift), this uses, as far as I know, the same cylinder head that would have been used on the G13a (Samurai/Sierra), so I don't see think you sould need to be concerned about valve/piston contact, if that's what you're asking about. |

Thx That was one concern. The other being Compression Ratio and use of 91Ron fuel. Cheers Greg |

I can't really address the fuel side of it, back then, we only had one grade of fuel, equivalent of "super unleaded", which I think translates to 98Ron, but, my guess is you'll need at least 95Ron. |
