Congratulations on being selected for Auszookers Zook Owner of the Month!

How does it feel being honoured with the nomination for Z.O.O.M. 2014?

Pretty good, never thought the day would come where i write a zoom.

So tell us about yourself. Who are you, What's the meaning to your username, Where do you live, and what do you do for a living?

My name is Trevor, I’m 23 and I live on the Gold Coast.

To the those who have the misfortune of knowing me I’m Skip. :D Skip or on AZ ‘Skippy’. My name came about as I work in Aged care and as you can guess everyone is old…. So people could never remember my name, one of the old ducks took to calling me Skippy and it stuck. Now I don’t think anyone actually remembers my real name

How did you get started in Suzuki's & how many have you owned?

It began when my grandparents moved up from NSW to QLD and on my first time to their new place I seen a black and white Suzuki, at the time I was too young to know what it actually was but being older now I know it’s one cool paddock basher, It’s a lj80 hardtop with a 4k corolla motor and an internal cage that’s made of trampoline legs. My grandfather also has 2 hardtop lj50’s that are purely spares cars.

So naturally, it became the car i would bash and crash about in at a young age, i loved it, could take a beating and still keep powering on!!

Currently I have a Silver 2011 Jimny but previously I had a 78 LJ50 hardtop.

The Infamous fro Timmy mentioned

Any changes in store for your Suzuki?

Lots!! There is nothing special about my Jimny.. it’s got the bare necessities. Lift, 30’s and gearing.

HD axles from joe are waiting to be accompanied by a locker for the front

Either rear disc or go the full hog and get a floater kit

Bulbar that’s sitting at Jimny_Timmy’s.. ( might get it this millennium)

Trusses front and rear for the axles

Sill guard of sorts, haven’t decided yet on what type

Will fab up a rear bar

And finally Joe’s long awaited locker for the rear, dunno how much I can say yet as its still hush, hush so I’ll leave it at that

What has been your best modification?

Gearing.. crawling in first gear at heavy traffic makes life so much better and just crawling in general, don't have to flog the car to get around on and offroad.

What has been your worse modification?

Steering Dampener, worst idea I've ever had. It's a DD so the dampener made parking ridiculous.

If you could have anybody else's zook, who's would it be and why?

You can never want only one car when there are so many zooks about. so i'll keep it short

Goat, Every jimny owner woud love to roll around the tracks in this.

As for an LJ, Something_else's chocolate brown 80 ute, this thing ticks all my boxes for an LJ.

And of course The Grand Sierra, this thing takes cool to a whole new level in the Suzuki world 8)

What has been your best 4wding trip?

Coffs 2014, i went as a passanger and had a ball.

Image

i was fortunate enough to be passenger in the Dual cab Sierra :woohoo: and go on the night run with Dmac.

Image

If you could go to any place in the world to wheel, where would that be?

On home turf, Watto's but if i was to go overseas i'd like to go to Europe and check out some of the stuff I've seen on the web.

Who are you closest to in the auszooker's community?

Greenzook89
We first met at a run down to Reedy Creek, we met at the closest McDonalds...i drove in and thought oh no, not a coily driver! :thefinger:  Nah he's a good bloke and we've wheeled together ever since.

Image

Ive met with Timmy a handful of times and talk to him and Wilso (31zook) on a daily basis.

Image

Tell us what the wheeling is like in your area?

It's not that crash hot locally, Ormeau and Reedy Creek are my local tracks but both are on the verge of being developed. City view is the next closest place followed by Ripley and the longer drives are to Glasshouse and cruiser park.Wherever you go you can have a mix of all terrains depending on weather.

What other toys/hobbies do you put a lot of time into?

Not so recent but i do a lot of composite work, Have a few things in motion at the moment with Fibreglassing and Jimny parts and i also have been building bits and pieces for the Jim and Greenzooks Coily

Front Bar

Image

Rear that's still sitting in the workshop

Image

My roof rack system i made to eliminate the need for roof rails and racks

Radius arm guards

What is it about the auszookers that brings you back for more?

The Tech, Reading people's builds and seeing what they have been up to and the Laughs... always a good laugh on here.

What about the auszookers forum would you like to see changed?

Nothing, mods and admins have done a good job with the forum.

Now for the million dollar question, who do you select to be the next Z.O.O.M. & why?

Richard for those who know him or rwt65 on AZ.
i met him at the 2014 Coffs trip and was meant to ride shotgun with him but things got changed around and ended up in the Grand Sierra. He has a cool softop sierra and eager to see this ute he is building, all i can say for his Sierra's is... 8) Dem Hotwire's 8)

I cant find the pic i had of them before i painted them but i picked thetm up for $300 and they were on a f100.

They are actually a 3 piece alluminium Enkai rim, when i got them greenzook and i were sus because of the bolts but when i had the tyres taken off they were welded together so i replaced all the bolts and made sure they were torqued right just in case a weld split. One rim is actually a replica and is 1 solid piece so i just JB welded some bolts into the holes to make it look the same.
