Thought I'd do some minor leak sealing. From the mudguard area. But couldn't reach it without pulling out the fixed section of the bed base. This proved rather difficult, and I gave up and broked it out. As original single bit was also the bracing for frame and mudguards, I fitted some galv bracing first, then the more easy to access strapping. Woods a bit lighter than the ply sheet, but adding braces and 2000 screws, probably same weight over all. Now I can just remove whatever section I wish to access. Though hopefully will never need to. Somehow I forgot to add flashing to the wheel guard/side area, but has only just started to leak. So will do that, or a ton of silastic soon.

PS, may have only been 100 screws, but my hand feels like it did a lot more.

Opted for a ton of silastic,( neutral cure, mould resistant ) as my back said no more work. If it works, great, if not can do some flashings later.

Found me camp stove next to my pillows, so decided it was time to fit load restraint points. Don't usually carry much there, but what I do carry should stay where I put it now Leaf sprung trailers are quite hard on contents when off road. I would never carry anything fragile in there. Hence why I stay in the car

I have been experimenting with pressures. So far I have found 10psi best, on and off road. Could go lower off road, but drag was bad on road. If get into soft sand probably go lower. Long highway trips I go to 15 to save fuel and tyre wear. 10 is it for now.

Hi mate, just wondering your thoughts on the battery box up front.
Do you still have it up there? And have you found any issues with it being exposed, like through water crossings or on muddy tracks?
Just looking at options for moving the batteries out from inside my trailer and was thinking about doing something similar to yours. I don't really want to throw a big heavy tool box on the front if I can avoid it.

Not had any problems with water or mud, but fine dust gets into the box. Box has breather holes for the battery.. No problem with weight on drawbar, or tow ball, but my battery is light. Weight could become an issue for ball weight, if battery too heavy. If I fitted a stone guard, it would be behind that. Have not found a need for that, yet.

Bigger battery, now, only reason was it was free. Little battery was a 7ah, this is 24ah. Threw a bit more paint at camper recently.

Cheers mate. For some dumb reason I hadn't given much thought to dust. Was mostly worried about water/mud/rocks being thrown up from the car tyres. I'm still undecided on the best solution for me at the moment, but I'm sure I'll come up with something soon. Thanks again.
