Hey this is very random but I was offered a LT2 5.0L V8 that has a auto trans complete with wire harness and computer........and all the rest for free.

Has anyone actauly fitted one to a zook and made it work and get it past RTA and has it on road?
I know it is reallllllly heavy But I was thinking mabey a old LWB Vitara or a LWB WT seirra.
As I said its just a pipe dream right now. But it it wont pass Blue slip I dont want to do it.
If I did it I would be running 80 series axils. What Transfer case would fit and take the power?

The only one I know of had a rover V8, was done at Little Hartley Suzuki by Charlie the crazy owner. Was so awesome up Mt.Victoria pass, just put along until a falcon or dunnydore got beside ya then pin it & leave them for dead. They'd get to the top & with total disbelief on their faces.........Absoloute gold.

Well I want to but I want it to be road worthy I know I am lucky to not live in Qld as we all know they have some f--d up road rules. I guess the next thing I will be looking for is a shell. So if anyone has a unfinished project or just a body laying around let me know I am wanting this to be cheap to start as I know it will get pricy very very quick.

taxi motors should stay in taxis. by the time you built all the driveline up to handle it it won't be much of a zook.

I know 80 series diffs will handle the power I am not sure on a T-case I know people put V8s in Hilux's and leave the standard case. I know I will need a LWB.

Dozer on OL? I think that thing was a Rover chassis. I like it, but as mentioned it's not really a zook.

I my opinino the zook chassis would cope OK, it's the driveline that would need help and the suspension at the front with all that extra weight. If you could then do something to balance the weight a bit you'd probably be OK. As for registration, NFI.

You probably don't want to hear alternate sugegstions... ah well  Sell the v8 pushrod boat anchor and spend the money on a supercharging a 16v.

lotta lotta work to fit one into a zook, but why would you want to when there are plenty of modern 4 pot motors putting out the same if not more power than the old Holden 5 litre engines. Would admit it would sound cool though.
