I have a stock sj80 and was thinking about a lift down the track. do the Rancho 5000 Shocks fit up front.I know they have struts but it say's on snake racing that they fit front and rear?

in the rear they will but not in the front. the only extended front strut for the coily is made by ultima. you could get struts custom made to whatever size you want but it will be expensive. shocks are easy to get heaps of sizes available.

Custom struts would run into a fair few hundred a pair, like ridge suggested, ultima off ebay.I run them and they are pretty good. Snake racing have had that up there for as long as I can remember. The complete kit off ebay is about $650 if I remember correctly, works a treat

depends where you go and who you speak too. i went to pedders and was qouted $400 each for 2" struts. i guess the guy thought that because i was young he could rip me off.

yeah i have seen the lift on ebay. but i was after maybe a 3 inch lift. snake racing are meant too be coming up with a new lift kit for them that i read on another forum next year. any one know what lift is in that sj80 hardtop on there website?

TJM's are around a grand, 40mm lift (24mm lifted springs and a 15mm bush to make up the 39mm) (they call it 40) anything under 50mm doesn't need an engineers certificate in Q'ld anyway.

Really...is that absolutely correct? I have 40mm on mine, was going to get a mod plate soon for body lift and the suspension that's all.

pretty sure under 50mm is legal but the body lift wont be .... could be wrong

i spoke to an engineer and qld transport about my ute build and they said that a body lift is ok as long as it is approved by the transport department. you are allowed a suspension lift equal to 1/3 of the stock suspension travel either up or down. best idea is to call and check for yourself
