I will be replacing the T/C on my WT sierra this weekend with another identical transfer. Is it straight forward? any particular things i can do or steps to make the process easier?

One of the easiest jobs you can do to a Sierra.
1, remove shifter knob and boot.
2, Remove front shaft. 14mm nuts
3, Remove jackshaft. 14mm
3, remove rear shaft. 14mm
4, remove speedo cable. 10mm
5, Disconnect 4wd switch plug.
6, undo 3 X 14mm nuts on mounts.
7, jiggle transfer and it'll drop out.
To refit reverse procedure and check oil level.

I've removed a heap of transfers without draining the oil first and unless you remove the shifter you won't spill a drop.

x2 ive never dropped my oil while playing with transfers.

i normally end up spilling half of it or someone will knock it over....

normally whenever i have had to pull one out i have had to replace seals / bearings etc. you can always re use the oil if it is still good, just make sure the container you collect it with is clean.

If you leave the shifter in you wouldn't ever have this problem. And now you know and knowing is half the battle. G.I.JOE!!!!!!!! hahahahaha
