hi guys
i brought a vitara for parts about a year ago and the guy i brought it off also gave me sum reducion gears for low range that he hadnt put in yet so last weekend i decied i was going to fit them and to my surprise they were wrong there are five gears and from what ive found i only need 3 for low range reduction , so i was just woundering if anyone could sheed sum light on the subject and if they no what they are for so i can sell them and get the rite ones. im thinking they are for a different model vitara . cant call him cause i lost his number incase use were woundering

most gears reduce hi and low

how many are in the whole box?

I've never heard of a gearset that provides low range reduction only...

It'll be high and low range reduction.

the gear with the sinco on it is simalar but if u look at mine its way to long and it has a different spline on the inside where it joins the g-box and the gear on it is the same as the one in my t-case and its not a reduction already in case ur woundering and the "H" patten gear looks simalar 2 mine and the other gear i see look like one of mine but mine it smaller in size

hey guys i just counted the single gear the one atari had in the link and mine , mine has 29 and the other has 35 so they r different but the H pattern gear seems to be the same which is good

I thought you could only get low range reduction for a Vitara?

the vitara is 1:1 in high range, reduction gears dont reduce high range

It's why Vits (and Hiluxes) have such low diff ratios. A Vit with 5.125 diff and 1:1 Hi range is about the same overall Hi range as a Sierra with 3.737 diff and 1.409 Hi.
