To answer the install questions I thought I'd make a Tech Thread.

My Jimny before the spacers



Undo one end of each of your shocks which well let your axles fall away as you jack the car, which releases the springs.

Jack up the car on a level surface and place supports in a safe location that will be out of your way. One end at a time is fine
This pic shows how much wheel travel is available from the Jimny with the right suspension set-up.



Remove the standard rubber coil seat




I used Outdoor Auto spacers as they replace the standard rubber seat and firmly attach both front and rear, unlike some others that just slip over the top.
50mm ODA1 Spacer on left, Stock rubber seat on right



With a rubber mallet drive the spacer onto the metal mount



Put your spring back in making sure the tail of the coil matches the groove on the axle mounting pad



REAR is done


The front is virtually the same...

Remove the stock rubber seat.



Put the spacer and then replace the spring.





You should be left with these bits when using ODA1 spacers



Don't forget to bolt your shocks back on.

Not these ones though . These were my grandfathers. He "borrowed" them from where he worked. They're very heavy but super stable... better than bricks

one thing. when adding spacers such as this it is IMPORTANT to match the o.e bumpstop spacing as it was before. failure to due so may result in the coil going 'solid' or the shock bottoming out. bumpstops should not be left over....they should be in the vehicle.

The ODA units replace the OEM units as shown in the pics.
The front OEM bumpstop remains and the rear OEM would do nothing anyway, the spacer inner lip has more rigidity. In Qld the bump stop gap is allowed to increase by I think 30% over OEM. Longer bump stops will hinder travel and I've never been able to get mine to go solid. My shock lengths were calculated before I bought them so even fully flexed the shock still has up travel.

But I agree with you Joe that it's not just a matter of slapping them in and away you go. All mods create a ripple effect.
