hi i have a 95 sierra and have pulled the gearbox out to replace the clutch i had heaps of trouble getting the box out between the cross member and engine and for the life of me cant get it back in i have tried every thing and no luck please help

Unbolt the g/box mount from the box.

tried that even tried jacking th engine up to get more room still won't go

try pushing the end of the box through the linkage hole then slide in on

spin it so the starter hole is at teh top and slip the rear end right in then lift it up and spin it another 90 to clear the exhaust then back the right way and slot it in

its a lot easier if the exhaust isnt there too

X2 Royce has spelt it out clear as

tried spinning it all different was then got the shits and un bolted left hand engine mount and slid the motor forward a bit and presto slid straight in why didn t i think of this earlier thanks for all the help, is the another name for the seal on the output side of the gear box mine is stuffed and every one at auto barn and repco kepp telling me its a extension housing seal worth $50 bit hard to belive when i got a new rear main seal for $18

Yes, also known as extension housing seal. $50 sounds a bit much, I'm sure I only paid $15 or so last one I got

Ipswich City Bearings has them, Talk to Scott or Ryan that's where we get all our seals and bearings from.
I recently did mine and it was not that dear less than $20. Also it is a bit to change as you will need to take the clutch cable bracket off and spring from clutch fork and rotate shaft enough so the housing can come off.

Arh yes, my bad I was too!!! sorry

In that case, it has a bit of a dust lip on it and I think he had to order it in but still was like $16. it is about 9mmor10mm think.
