I was wondering instead of mukin around with the looms and switches if you can just run a wire from your high beam to the actual driving light will this work?

if by 'work' you mean 'set fire to my headlight wiring', then yes. It will work.

You need clean battery power switched via relay. Best to do it properly.

A set of driving lights will draw more current than the standard loom is designed to handle.

It really is necessary to put it through a relay, since you are going to have to do this you could also put the headlights through relays and give them a bit of a boost too.

x2 use the headlight high beam switch as the switch for the relay and run fused 12v from the battery(or from a fuse block that has and ignition switched relay supplying its power) that way when you turn of the ignition the spotties wont stay on...just safer..unless you want them on while the car is off.....
