my question is should diff breathers be made of a special hose ????
when i pulled my centre out i found water inside the housing as it had
a breather hose on it im asuming it must be getting hot enough to cause
condensation in the hose that trickles back into the housing. didnt see any
signs of water on the last change ????

did your diff suck any water in on a water crossing through the axle seals?

i have read that the hose should be a fuel hose or similar as the diff fluid can destroy normal garden hose

eldo your onto something i think a bearing and seal was suspect on removal. didnt even think twice about it

what about normal air line hose?
i use that, just keep it away from ya exaust

Normal rubber hoses are degraded by oil, so if used as a dff breather, where regularly exposed to oil, will degrade over time...

Some sort of oil resistant hose would be preferable, unless you want to keep changing hoses...

same here. ball didn't even notice his hoses getting shorter.
