finally got my sierra roadworthy and regd, but its crazy to drive in a straight line on the highway without it being scary
replaced sway bar mounts and bushes for RWC, nothing else was picked on so dont think its a bush issue and have no play anywhere in the front end.
But I can lean on the car and it moves and inch, and with a slight push I can rock it back and forward (side to side) about 15cm I reckon.
What should I be replacing?
I was thinking shocks, but they all passed rwc and the guy is pretty fussy that did it.
Its a leaf spring tin top.
Thanks for any input!

Perhaps the shocks are flogged, Have you had a wheel alignment done?

The wobble when you lean on it can only be (1) springs (2) bushes (3) shocks or (4) mounting hardware. There's not that much between diff and chassis - just take a real close look at all of it to make sure everythings tight / bushes are in good nick / springs have at least 3 leafs front + 4 leafs rear / shocks aren't completely flogged out (mine where when I removed them at 300,000km...) / U-bolts are nipped up tight / etc.

With wobbling around on-road, I found that my Zook on stock 205/70R15 HT's on 15x5.5 rims was HEAPS worse on-road than the 235/75R15's and 31x10.5's on 15x7 F100 rims. I was driving behind a stock WT Sierra with fibreglass canopy at 100kph only an hour or so ago too and was amazed to see how much he was thrown (body swaying side to side) compared to my Zook on the same road. I've got heaps more body roll on cornering no doubt due to the lift and softer springs I'm running, but on road is far more controlled.

Not the king pin bearings? Just check E V E R Y T H I N G... twice.
Mines always handled like a dog, stock as a rock
with stocko tyres on and it doesn't drive straight.
40mm lift and poly rear bushes still drives like crap. I don't know, I kinda
gave up on looking for the issue, so I just drive the old man's pootrol around.

I swapped my draglink and tierod over which had flogged rod ends. The difference in handling was scary....Check the steering rod ends as well if it wanders on the road.

Thats the wind off the truck..

You slip stream, then once you reach the trucks mach 1, you definately feel it.

I had that drama with stockers and a side wind..cross 3 lanes..and always fighting it.

I now run wide 33's. Keeps me on the road, in the same lane.

will take it in for a wheel alignment and check over everything again
it all feels tight though dont think I missed anything

reading the above posts it seems thats just the way they are!

I had a 1L softop years ago that didnt handle this bad though, I could do 90km before shitting myself whereas its just 60km in this one!
