Hey guys I'm looking at doing a 1.6 conversion in my 1.0 litre. I have found these engine mounts on the net and was wondering if anyone thinks that they would work If bolted or welded to the chassis.

If you fit the chassis 1.3 mounts to your 1.0 chassis then the bits pictured will bolt up.

Would i have to cut them off a 1.3 chassis or can ya buy them from somewhere?

Thanks for the link Rusho. All the work looks great. Fatzook your work is awesome. Some of that is a bit beyond my capabilities though.lol. Gonna have to find a good motor and gearbox so i can nut something out.

Im also about to do this, i have been told to just use a bit of 10mm plate.

It can be done a number of ways BUT if you want to do it neat and have the engine exactly where it should be them cut the mounts off a 1300 chassis and weld them onto your chassis in the correct spot and it will be perfect.

I am guessing that the mounts that are pictured are some aftermarket replacement mounts for a 1300 so they will not achieve what you want.

the way you said 2 stroker you will still need the adapter kit to get the right angle/distance from the driver side one ?

Thanks 2stroker thats what i was thinking of doing then buying the BenT adaptor kit. Just wanted someone to confirm that it could be done. I think it sounds like the easiest way to go.

Also keep in mind that if you use the adapter kit with standard 1.3L sierra engine mounts, or ANY aftermarket replacement sierra mount, your 1.6 will sit some 50mm above the line of your bonnet.

You will need to be VERY carful to get the height right. Its a fine balance between being able to fit a 1.3 bonnet and maintaining sump clearance.
