The zook is a 91 SWB vitara


Lol well i just got some new rubber on the zook being 30 inch m/T tyers the rub a little bit on full lock so i started to put in a 2 inch body lift (supplied by just cruzin) so iv did all the normal things like the front and rear bumpers grills guards lights fuel filler brake lines. jacked it up got the blocks on there they looked all fine lowerd the jacks only to find out that it dosnt line up AARGH iv tried jacking the entire body up and tried to move the chasie to try and line the nuts back up with the holes but it dosnt seem to be working when i go to roll the wheels the entire body seems to be moving with it i cant see any possible area of the chasie that is still connected to the body? so any sugestions on how to get it all line up squar again?

Can be a bit tricky, I used tie down ratchet straps to move the body (anchored on my shed bench) when the body was jacked up. get you centre ones done first if possible.

Did you un-do the gear stick boot covers?

If its one of Greg's kits did you make sure you slid the rubber down off all the body studs and then place the block on, then replace the rubber?

When you do a body lift it should allways be done either 1 side at a time or front then back...

If you've got all the blocks in and are just trying to line all the holes up. You get the ones under the firewall done first. only finger tight! you may need to use a block & tackel or another vehicle with a winch to pull the body in what ever direction you need to go. Then do the very rear ones. Then the ones rear side of the doors. Leave the ones under the headlights to last as they have more play than any of the others.

This is what I found to be the best way to re-align the body to the chassis.

thanks for the fast replys guys yeah i removed the shifter covers i was just bout to knock off to bed last night i got up off the lougne and thought CRAP the steering colume.... raced out side loosend her up and bam it basicaly jump and poped back into alignment musta been a bit of weight on the steering shaft dunno why i didnt think of that earlier lol o well i got plenty of pics il have to upload when i get back home from work.
