G'day guys, time has come to rebuild my 5.14 transfer setup,
But issue I have is, it's currently giving me the impression that its got rumbly bearings, medium bearing type noise, noisier under load.
Question: Snake Racing rebuild kits come with a counter shaft and thrust washers,
Lowrange and Locktup kits dont.
Obviously a decent price difference, but is it worth the extra to spend more and get the shaft as well? or aren't they that common for trashing out? I don't wanna buy a kit to pull it down and find that I should of bought the snake kit.
Help and thoughts much appreciated,

The lowrange kit for $215 has the counter shaft in it.

I best have another look then, as the kit I found on there was bearings and seal and gaskets only!
Also I've always used 3bond at work, no dramas, do the supplied gaskets work well, or just use silicone anyways?

PM weaves, he sells the good stuff 
plus buy some shim paper and a set of feeler gauges this will enable you to be one of a few zook owners who actually shim up there Tcase and get in to run firm and smooth....

Pretty sure weaves can't do the needle roller bearings, they are a genuine type arrangement

I've rebuilt countless hyundai accent fwd boxes, shim setup, also my gti three times now, using a different casing due to diff explosions from racing. It's an overlooked adjustment in any/many cars!
Yep jonno, caught onto that, might pick up the suzuki to lux highsteer setup for my lwb while im doing an order if I go that way. Just waiting on a reply from locktup to see what they come with!

Did you work in a Hyundai dealership?
That recall of the ~2001 model accent for gearbox reasons was such a cream job.
Hide at the back of the workshop rebuilding boxes with 8 hours each allocated to the job.

Definately worth getting the counter shaft Grice. Let me know when you order it, I was looking at getting the Suzuki hub socket, and Nic was looking at getting a rebuild kit for this Tcase too - save on postage if we split it!

We are hyundai and holden and chrysler though! however we are dropping the chrysler brand thank god!
I hide up the back of the workshop on any job!!
