Guys,
Im having my 1.3 rebuilt at the moment, and therefore I am trying to get myself organised so i can install the engine.

I am wondering, after installation, and hooking everything up, and filling with oil and coolant.
Is it as simple as just cranking the engine over?
Or do I need to stuff around with oil pressure and other stuff?
Also, when i refit dizzy and other bits, will it run the same as it use to, ie? Do i have to change the timing?

Any information would be appreciated.

Its a 94 swb sierra, 1.3

Its always a good idea to disconnect the ignition and wind it over until you get some sort of oil pressure (no oil light on). The G series build up pressure pretty quick so maybe 5-10secs cranking on the fresh engine should see the oil light off. This cranking time should also fill the carby bowl with fuel as well. Shouldn't have to change the timing but you should set it to spec once the engine is running.

I want to get the carby tuned by a mechanic, Maybe I will get him to adjust timing at the same time.
Thoughts?

Correct. I believe its between 8-10 degrees BTDC @ ~850RPM. You will need a timing light to set it to that spec.

When you crank it as above, take the spark plugs out so you're not labouring the starter against the compression of the cyls.
