I've just installed a 2nd hand long ranger tank (70L) to my SWB sierra. There is only 4 outlets on the tank, fuel line, fuel return, filler and filler neck vent,. There is no brether line for the expansion tank. First run in it tonight it built up a far bit of pressure as a result of heat from the exhaust.

How have others dealt with the lack of breather? A T-Piece from the filler vent?

Also can anyone tell me where the exhaust needs to be rerouted? I've temporaraly cut it down and rewelded the muffler further forward. Its currently dumping direct onto the back axle which I'd like to change. Does the pipe that comes with it route to the back of the car? Surely this is true to get approved.

For all you forum addicts I've also posted elsewhere but people seem to be more helpful here. :)

Cheers,

John

From memory when Bruce and I did caspers, you do need to fit a Tee piece on one of the lines, but not the one that seems like the reasonable one to do cause it makes it spew fuel everywhere

his exhaust comes out through the left hand mud flap, I think it runs just inside the chassis rail over the diff and snakes through the rear spring and out

may be some info here somewhere, no doubt Bruce would of posted something about me wasting his money and spilling fuel all over his pristine shed floor :rambo:

Hmmm..Guess I'll have to find a T piece somewhere. Its kind of a weird size getting down from the filler vent size to the expansion tank size. As for the zorst that should give me enough of an idea to tell the boys at the shop. Thanks Royce.
