has anyone done the front wheel bearings on the '03 XL7 i want to do them myself but heard they can be a real pain in the but, any advise would be great.

Assuming they are the same as GV of that era youll need the special socket to undo the bearing nut thats done up to stupid tight (BenT on here sells them) a pair of circlip pliers to undo the retainer that holds the bearing cassete in the hub and the driveshaft circlip and a press to get the old out and new in
plus general tools to get the drive flange and caliper and rotor off and a jack and stands and so on
they arent anywhere near as hard as some cars but a little more tricky than your average 4wd
