Maybe try bunnings but Super cheap should be able to order in a square drive socket, When I worked there I had a nice collection of tool catalogues and have ordered odd sized sockets before.

I've always used a 3/8 sliding T bar, but because it's slightly tapered at the ends it's slips and has eventually rounded the plug. I should've chopped the tapered end off so it fits in a bit more snug. Or just get one off ebay..

my gearbox is runnig a 21mm? plug.. on both the filler adn drain, couldnt get the filler one undone, so measured out the required 2.7pints(1.3litres+/-)(according to the FSM) dropped the old oil thru the drain plug, and removed the shifter..

which is only the four 10mm bolts ontop of the tunnel.. and three 10mm bolts under the dust boot at the end of the lever.. saved faarking around trying to undo a stubborn bolt on the cold concrete, made refilling a piece of piss...

I'll do some more searching on Fleabay.

I even thought of looking for some 10mm steel bar, cutting it, and then use a spanner on it?

That's ideal because my socket set is 1/2". That seller is away for the christmas break, I'll keep looking as I want to change the gear and tranny oil next week if I can. May look in to Bunnings as well.

Thats what I do. Just stick it in a socket

a couple of cars ago I butchered a 1/2" drive adaptor with a grinder to fit into a 10mm plug. still working well to this day.

All the plug's on my sierra have been changed to 19 or 21mm though armsup
