Does this stuff really work? Almost bought some before at Repco, thought i'd ask here before wasting unnecessary $$$. If it does work - what's the stuff to buy?

Also - coolant - pink or green? First time dealing with an alloy engine, dunno if it needs any special treatment. And how much coolant will I need for a 90 Sierra?

it neutralises to old coolant and removes it so yes you probably should use it or flush the fuck out of it
coolant could be any color just make sure its for alloy engines

We use Wynn's Radiator flush and treatment. Works a charm

I use some NASTY smelling stuff from my radiator bloke.

you need to flush with a hose and use that stuff, make sure the heaters on

I use tectaloy XP7 in mine, just pick the best tectaloy version you can afford and then take the next one up

I haven't checked yet - is there a sump plug on a zook radiator or do I just remove the bottom hose?

theres a drain but your better pulling the bottom hose off, a heater hose off and the thermostat housing so you can reverse flush it all good

is tectaloy xp7 a concentrate @ just use it or do you use demineralize water or tap water. what do you guys think of nulon long life concentrate which has antifreeze/antiboil. probably would'nt need in queensland climate. just need some opinions before i spend the money.

Mukowt made by TECTALOY is gold, ive used it in all my cars and all my customers cars, make sure you flush it all out with clean water though, its fair corrosive!!!!

i find it funny that people claim this coolants great, dont use this one etc. but what proof have people got? what tests have been done etc.
as long as its for alloy engines any coolant should be fine. long as the old coolant is flushed out properly. personally iv used toyota super long life in all of the vehicles iv had due to aquiring it from work. the only complaint i have about it, is its premixed from factory fairly strongly, as it weeps out of hoses etc. never leaks out just weeps and turns crusty. cant say its better than x coolant but iv never had a vehicle over heat while using it so it must be ok. and it lasts 5 years. the only worry in my mind is as it seems so strong that it may eventually weep out of the head or similar. but i have no way to say if this isnt the case with tectoloy or similar generic brands. so il just stick to it.

I listen to a bloke thats been in radiators and alloy cooling stuff longer than you and I have been able to walk, good enough reason for me I reckon.

Nulon = Company that makes a liquid for just about everywhere in a car, Tectaloy = makes coolant, whos likely to spend more time on making it good?

Can I have some Toyota stuff too is it the gear thats made to change colour when your head blows?

its pretty pink coolant and no it doesnt change colour if the head gasket fails.
