Im in the process of replacing my carby and have hit a few snags along the way. Keep in mind that i am not 100% competent with them as all my other cars have been EFI and the carb on my motorbike has never had an issue.
It is a stock carby just a little tweaked (purchased off 31zook, thanks mate)
1. Idle is around 1500-2500 and varies every time i start it up.
2. Previous carb was removed by my brother for me while i was away (appreciate his help but didnt label any hoses for me) so im stabbing in the dark as to what goes where. pictures would be very helpful if anyone has any
3. Choke plate seems to stay open as if there is not enough spring tension, is this a vacuum or mechanical thing?
thank you in advance to anyone with helpful advice.

I had the same problem, plus had run-on problems. After bashing my head against a brick wall for a few weeks trying to get the carby sorted, wasting a heap of time and money, I gave up and took the car to carby people, we stuck in a webber with a cutoff solenoid and electric choke, tuned it up with the best jets for the engine. Car now idles at 700 to 800, purrs like a kitten, gets 30% better fuel economy, and goes like a rocket. Its a frustrating path you're going down, good luck if you persist with the stock carby!
