It gives it a much deeper sound, depending on the components of the system, it can sound like a rumble/growl/roar, but if not done properly, can sound like a wet fart, not good...

I reckon the tone of the stock exhaust is better. The engine noise used to sound unreal @ 3000 - 5000RPM inside the car, now all I can hear is the blowy drone of the exhaust... I was expecting it to sound even better again.

My complete exhaust cost ~$700. I gotta say I was disappointed with the performance boost, I can't feel any gains at lower RPMs, although it does breathe better at higher RPMs.

You should have stuck with the stock exhaust if you wanted performance in low RPM's... a custom/sports exhaust system shifts the power to a higher RPM, usually around 2500 to 3000rpm, then you feel the benefits of a better exhaust system... i dont get a drone at all when i am cruising along at any speed, can hardly hear it, its only when the go peddle is pushed that the exhaust becomes noticeable, and if i floor it, then yes very noisy, otherwise, very quiet... i would take it back and say its too droney...

The benefits of a better exhaust system far out way the small drop in power/performance at low rpm...

I have a 3' Magnaflow high flow Metal cat (200cpi) in my Turbo liberty. Sourced it locally in Newcastle for about $200. Just gotta look round.

what did you expect.

At low revs, the stock system is quite capable of moving the gasses, when you are pushing things, then, you need better.

Remember, a tiny suzi donk does not really come into play till around 3500 revs, thats the start of play, minimum entry revs.

If you are blacktop driving, and these are the sort of revs that is normal, then you will feel very little difference.

If you open her up, WOT from these revs, gears appropriate, then you will feel a lovely change, much better oomph, and holding.

My little girl pulls to over 7000, she should not be doing that, but, im pretty happy the way she does things.
