Hey guys im looking at making some new panels for the rear of my hardtop and ive been trying to find an easy way to do it. I was wondering if someone has a template or a how to?

Or is it easy enough to just go into it with cardboard and a stanley knife and make one up?

Another thing, whats the suggested way of mounted them so they dont rattle and make alot of noise? Screws or push clips?

I made some out of 2mm aluminium and just used sheet metal screws, the rattled out after a while, i would suggest sheet metal screw and a dab of locktight would fix it

Yeah the old ones are missing bits and all deformed. Might jsut use the cardboard method. Or i was thinking of making it out of chipboard and getting it covered in carpety type material?

Don't use chipboard in your car unless its marine grade. Otherwise it will go like weetbix soon as moisture see's it. Mdf wil go shit also.

I used the thin brown boarding stuff like original (cant remember name)and covered them in vinyl with foam on the back to stop some of the tinny echoing.

I went to reverse garbage in marrickville and got a couple of sheets of 5mm plastic sheet (Almost same as dash plastic).

Used old trims as template.

Then use self tappers into old holes.

Not noisy,waterproof,solid and the screws haven't shifted...ever.

Looks factory.

Hey guys ive just been browsing around low range off road and i saw some sets of diamond plate trims for my hardtop, works out cheaper than getting them from ebay here too!

What i was wondering though is if anyone else in the sydney area would want to do a group order and save some money on shipping?

I wont be putting the order through till i get some more cash together so theres always time to browse
