my zook is just about on the road again but i got one last problem it blows shit loads of smoke but it runs fine its still got plenty of power (for a 1.3 ) and revs
the smoke is light grey in colour
what is the best way to stop the smoke? and what might be causing it?

use good quality oil, zooks love really good oil

Depending how old the motor is a higher viscosity oil might help

IMO id be checking plugs, doing a compression test and going from there. my original motor started with light grey smoke.. soon turned into a Cheech and Chong reunion.. (macca's drive thru wouldnt let me 'drive thru'.)

the plugs were black so i replaced them
the smoke has a weird smell to it it doesn't smell like oil burning or anything like that but it does burn your nose if you stand around in it

i did a bit of research and i read that smoke like that can be caused by a blocked or malfunctioning PCV valve.
Is the PCV valve the nipple looking thing that screws into the manifold near the carby and has the breather hope connected to it?

its got a weber but its never blown smoke like this before its maybe done it the last 100ks or so

if you go to a good workshop that can do a sniff test ( with a machine) it may be worthwhile as this will give you some indication of what it may be. webbers are renowned for being tempramental.

it was taken to a mechanic that specialises in that sort of thing and this is how it came back

PCV valve is the plastic thingy that plugs into the top of the rocker cover, it has a hose off it that runs back into the airbox. If you squirt heaps of brake clean or something similar into it then blow it out with compressed air it should come right. You should be able to blow air through it with your mouth one way but not the other.
