Dent in fuel tank... should I be worried???

Hey guys drove the tintop zook to work last week and parked in the Breakfast creek hotel carpark..

After work I drove over one of the concrete dividers in the carpark, would that have caused the dent in the fuel tank??? :oops:

I went over much rougher stuff in the white zook on my L's and the white zook's fuel tank does not look like that

That's nothing to worry about. I'd call that tank in good condition... :oops:

This tank has some pretty huge dents in it, and it's still fine.

There's really only a couple of problems with dents: They reduce the capacity of the tank enough to notice, or they start to pinch off the fuel pickup in the bottom of the tank.

You're nowhere near either of those being a problem.

its common for sierras. i had one about the same size, as long its its not leaking.

Mine looks similar if not worse than Steve's and it still works.

My old tank looked like steves.. and only held about 15L.

Very annoying.

Compressed air can be used apparently

I tried hammer+piece of wood through sender hole but only succeeded in making a hole in it.

i used to spank my tank all the time before my sierra was lifted... i'd hit it at least once every time i went offroad =)

I bet you a match in the filler will knock those dents right out (please don't actually do this anyone)

The front bottom half of my long ranger tank used to be flat then it would slope up to the bumper behind. Now it slopes all the way front to back. Don't know how much capacity I've lost lol.

Mine took another few big hits after these pics were taken before it got a puncture. Even then it was fixed with some steel putty and still worked fine.

Would a nt tank fit a wt ??

Yeah filled the zook up on friday and it took 36L, so there was probably a few L's left in the tank like every car when they reach E so I think it should be fine
