i need to make up some armor for my zook n would like to know if any one as made some up for there zook

where do you want to put it? what sort of armour? and where have you found in town to get cheapish checker plate?

i want it on the back corners.
haven't found any cheap checker plate but i got a old checker plate tool boxs i got give. i'll just make it out of that

checkerplate corners that you can buy have a section cut out of the middle and welded up i think its to make it fit the corner better
you might have to do something similar

maybe you can see opposite lock and order some pre made corners from Pirahna Off Road, i think they were $40. ( memory blury!! )

any mig over about 200 amps can weld ally.
tigs need to be ac/dc to do it.
ally is great fun to weld seeing that the inside of the alluminium will melt before the outer layer, thats what makes it harder to weld.

i'm pretty sure the pirahna ones are around $130 a pair

Thats true to a piont but for most companies that produce large amounts of fabricated aluminium products the TIG is too costly and time consuming. Most will use a Pulse MIG, which is in many circles argued to be better than TIG on ally anyway. I personally don't have one, but I do want one.
