Just a quick question everyone,

Has anyone ordered stuff from APIO in Japan? they seem to have a lot of decent stuff for my Jimny, just a little wary of overseas vendors at times.

I'd love one of the APIO quick-disconnect swaybars once I get my lift in.

the easiest way to get stuff from Japan is to use a service like Import Monster that does the buying and shipping for you.

I used them a few times back when I was into my Nissan Exa and never had a problem.

Also, Haven't used him myself, but I've heard very good accounts about Jesse Streeter - apparently a cheaper, more personal service than Import Monster.

Rakuten is a 3rd party site kind of like e-bay or trading post. Anything shown on there is available to be shipped through a freight forwarder. Give it a go, but the exchange rate and postage is not as cheap as the US.

I was unaware of this brand, just APIO which I mentioned in the email. There is 3 options here. I am thinking the Type A kit would me more than suitable with 4% reduction in High and 94% in low. Is this enough or is 145% the go in a Jimny for tough climbs?

my calmini 5.14 tcase for sierra did high range 18.3% and low range 183% or something... i LOVE my low range, its spot on. sierras and jimny's low range isnt low enough factory - i'd personally go the 145%.

There are actually 4 options there, but only No3 and No4 are for the Jimny transfer case.

Options No1 and No2 are for the gear driven Sierra transfer case, and compare the reduction gained with the ratios in a "1 Litre w/switch" case. Note that a different set of gears are required putting reduction into a 1.0 case compared with a 1.3 case, but the options listed are the 4.16, 4.9, 6.1 and 6.4 ratios that are available from the US for much cheaper. (100,800yen=AU$1250, 71,400yen=AU$885)

As for the Jimny case, the exchange rate of the 2 options listed are AU$2200 for the 58*Star gears, and AU$1010 for the Zeal gears.

Why are these APIO gears so expensive.
