Hey Guys,

Looking for a new 4x4 , something cheap that I can mod, just wondering what do you think of this little guy. Is there anything i should look out for regarding used ZOOKS?

It doesn't say it but i have asked the guy. Air con is there but not belted and gasd up.

It has had the following new items:

*New Clutch pressure Plate - 30k ago
*New Bearing and seals in the gearbox - 50k ago
*Rebuilt centre of rear diff
*New Long and Short pins
*New Thrust Washers, shims, planetary gears
*Reverse sided gears
*All new bearings in diff reset to workshop specs - 60k ago

No rust, current motor has about 150k on it.

Let us know what you think, any info would be greatly appreciated

That'd be worth 6 - 7 in Perth from the look of things, sounds like a good buy.

What needs to be done when an engine swap is carried out. Does this need a mod-plate. Is that the blue-plate in one of the photos. Is there anything else I need to ask the owner or look for. I'm going to have a look tomorrow arvo. I have never bought a car that has had an engine swap before, let alone anything done besides bigger tyres.

I used to see that car parked at UQ all the time back when I went to uni (couple of years ago). Looked like a neat car, and looked like it never saw much in the way of offroad use. From memory it also has a bodylift (not explicitly mentioned in the ad. Just says 2" lift kit).

Not sure about engine swaps in your state, a quick call to the road transport authority in QLD would soon tell you what makes it a legal conversion.

If it all looks good ensure you have some spare cash left over for fixing worn out stuff. Despite the engine swap, it's an old car that's done a lot of kms so there's going to be shit that needs fixing/replacing. I'm not trying to turn you off buying it, just it's a fact that old cars have worn out stuff, and 99.9% of them haven't been meticulously maintained.

Just guessing but I reckon the Sierra wouldn't have the most comfortable seats for a daily driver. What bucket seats fit straight in and has anyone got any for sale?

It still has the little door to the cubby in the dash, the inside must have been taken good care of at the very least.

Well had a look at it last night. Was really keen on it aswell. Shame I couldn't do anything until the end of the week. And someone cane right after me and put a deposit on it.
