Anyone know the following?

Standard WT Sierra Rim Offset
Speedy Desert Rat 7 inch offset

I'm trying to determine what length trailer axle to order to get the same track width as my sierra. My current track from center of tyre to center of tyre on my desert rat rims is 1385mm

I have some stock NT wheels at home, I can measure them for you if no one else pipes up. AFAIK they are a positive offset rim, and they are 5.5" wide, which is too narrow to legally run a 31x10.5 like you have on your zook.

As for the speedy rims, the only 15x7 they list for suit the zook stud pattern is -15 offset.

So if you are using those Speedy rims on your zook, your axle would have to be 1385 - (15x2) = 1355.

Never mind, found the table below. The 10p in the offset I take it means 10 positive? So if desert rats are -15 then I need an axle 50mm wider (25mm each side) at the the wheel mounting face on the trailer to pick up the difference in offsets of the 2 rims. Does that logic work?

Nah was gonna put some 30 x 9 mudders I've got off Sarahs zook on standard rims on the trailer.

Yeah it looks like the "P" means positive offset.

So if the track on your Zook currently is 1385 then to match that with +10 offset rims you would need a 1405 wide axle.

Well right now it looks like any old beat up box trailer but with metallic blue paint and jelly bean mags that should be on an EH instead lol. I haven't started modding it yet. I thought I'd order the axle and hubs then work out the width I need to cut the trailer to off that. Still want pics?

I would just get an axle to match the WMS of your zook, the inch either way will make bugger all difference, ive towed a made for NT trailer with my WT and a made for WT behind my vit and it makes bugger all difference, how often do you drive through sand or gluggy crap in a totally straight line

plus youll want to change to different rims later anyway

Are you sticking with the draw bar length you have? Something a little longer than normal is nice apparantly.

Why is a longer draw bar better?

It's a lot eaisier to reverse a trailer that has a longer draw bar. My little 6x4 is a bugga to reverse at times cause when it goes it's hard to bring back straight. My camper trailer 7x5 has a longer draw bar and is easy to reverse.

I thought it might be a reversing thing. The worry with fabbing a new draw bar is that its one more thing I need to measure and maybe get wrong. I don't imagine getting the draw bar out of whack would be real good for the tracking of the trailer. Though if its crabbing at least I'll be able to see it in at least one of my wing mirrors at all times lol.
