as stated above, was just wondering what sort of affect reduction gears have on 2H

i have an 89 leafy running 30's and am thinking of reduction gears. either 4,9 or 6,5

16% or 20% high range reduction for the 2 ratios you've mentioned.

In a 1.3 Sierra transfer, there will be a small reduction in high range. This will complement your 30" tyres and give you a lot more 'go' on-road.

Smashing mud ruts is probably best done in low range - unless you like hitting your mud at 50km/h+.

Get a full bearing kit, you don't want to have to pull the case apart again when a bearing shits itself... Better safe than sorry.
