Mate of mine has a sierra that needs a motor so he's been lookin for possible engine swaps and after looking at possible donors we are considering using a td27 factory turbo diesel out of a navara they look to be fairly small and simple to wire.

Has this been done before?

Would the sierra gearbox be strong enough to handle the torque?

I'm thinking the weight difference could have a negative effect over the front axle?

What are your thoughts ?

ewwwwwwww! no.

no idea where moe is, but che_guitarra just picked up a sierra with a 1.6 in it that he's not going to use and only needs a little work... you could buy that and have it in and running in no time.

be cheaper too.

Isuzu v6 out of an old school rodeo. Piece of piss to wire up, the ecu sits on top of the intake manifold! 5spd box can't be hard to sort into a Sierra! Probably cheap as well! I think that piranha fella was putting one in a vitara..... Should have more than enough power.
