Hey all got a suzuki ute with the 1.0 4 speed and wondering if theres any 5 speeds that bolt up to them. Don't really want to put a 1.3 in it just to get a 5 speed. Cheers

The only option is to find a Maruti or late 1 litre gearbox and drop the gears ect from a 1.3l gearbox into it.

I'm pretty sure GWagon said you can build a hybrid of the two boxes put together, I think it was the 5th and the reverse sections you swap.

Are you 100% sure about this? I have played with two F series motors, my early SOHC one and a later Cappucino F6A.

Whilst they both share the same bolt pattern, it's not the same pattern as a F10A.

AFAIK you need a maruti or type 3 1.0litre gearbox and fit the gears and tailshaft housing from a 1.3 5 speed.

The next/bigger problem is that I don't believe the F10A has enough torque to pull 5th gear on the highway. It might be an option if you are running 4.88 gears from a LJ along with transfer gears (or something) but I don't believe an otherwise stock 1.0 could manage it.

the following might not be of much help, but at least it could be informative...
Santana, the spanish manufacturer of Suzukis built a 5speed for the SJ410 in the mid-80's! They also had parabolic springs. The Santana models were exported to GB, France, Italy and as far as I know to several south american countries.
