Hey, what belt is everyone running on their G16b in a Sierra with the Ben-T Power steering kit? I have tried the stock vitara belt (the one with aircon) and is a fraction too short. Also, I have just bought a Gates 5PK1030 P/S without air con belt and is longer than the stock one with aircon! WTF Also the ribs are different.

Thanks

Put a piece of string around the pulleys and mark it.
Then measure the length and go back to the shop and ask for a Vitara PS belt of that length.

And make sure you can adjust the PS pump. When I first installed mine, the adjustment bolt was in a different hole. It held the pump in a fixed position.

Stock belt should be 4pk. Measure the length with some string as advised above and buy a belt to suit. Make sure you allow for tensioning.

Yeah I bought it online that's the trouble it's a bit of a gamble with belts as I found out the hard way lol. The original was K040365 and its 4 rib...A quick google search and comes up Mazda and nothing related to Vitara looks like. The vitara one I got online (5PK1030) P/S without aircon is 5 rib. Still bit strange. If anyone needs one it's for sale lol
Anyone got a code for the correct one they're running?

BTW thanks for the sting idea guys...may have to do that if I have time to get to town.

the belt code works , number of peaks and then lenght in mm

ie 4 peaks by 1100 mm belt would be a 4pk1100
