Hey guys just got a 91 sierra which Im currently re
building the wheel hubs. I've rebuilt Nissan patrol ones before and the king pin bearings were required to be pressed on. The bearings on the sierra just seem to slide straight on and i was wondering if this is normal or if they are worn?

Are you talking about King pin bearings or wheel bearings? Cos the king pins are not in the hubs. They are in the knuckle.

The wheel bearing and king pin outer races are tapped into place with a copper mallet. The bearing itself is free to be removed at any piont.

But when changing these bearings you must tap out the old raced with a chisel or drift and replace with the new ones that come with your new bearings.

Sometimes if you drive for long enough, you can just get your wheelbearings to remove themselves

Also free with this proceedure is damaged rotors and backing plates, and bonus inner guard damage from where the wheel went all wobbly at speed and decided to break the cardinal rule regarding the occupation of alotted space by 2 different objects at the same time.

But pehaps the biggest suprise is how your self removing wheel bearings also seem to lighten your wallet
