you could runs a 50l waeco for 50 hours in 28 degree heat and the battery will be dead flat

I would hazard a guess at about 10 hours if you want to start it off that battery as well

oh kk that is far better than i thought. what does a 50L waeco draw?? how about two twin beam hella work lights or an inverrter (600w), have you got a formula to work this out??

ok your battery is rated in amp hours (think of it as litres of fluid in a tank) but if you dont wish for your tank to start leaking you can only use half of it really

to work out how much liquid you need to know how many amps it draws over an hour which gives amp hours, a waeco generally draws 1 amp per hour but full and closed in cold weather will use less, always opening ti and putting hot stuff in and hotter weather will use a LOT more

so your amp hour rate times how long you want to run it is amp hours

another useful formula is converting watts to amps, thats watts divide by volts gives amps, times how many hours you want to run for is how much capacity youll need

well I finally fitted mine today, all you need to do on a vit is file down the little width adjusting dooby thing on the bottom mounts so it will slip over the bracket on the block, piss the standard nut on the bottom bracket off and in my case remove the bracket between the adjuster bracket on the top and the inlet manifold.

4pk0830 belt works well but a 825 might work as well. youll also need to find an 8x65ish nut and bolt for the adjuster

I forgot which wire i put where but whatever post bruce found on here was wrong

alt just fit sliding in and out through the top, but I had the clutch cable totally removed and unbolted the charcoal cannister for more room, its close to the bottom hose but the terminals are miles away from anything

I also stuck an extra fat cable from the alt to the battery lead on the starter, i'll make something that ties in with my dodgy dual battery setup later

hmmm, must be the Altenator weekend royce. I TRIED doing mine this weekend, (110amp into sierra) but no love here got a heap of swift pullys as i figured it would be easier to just swap them to multi grove rather than hunt round for a V for the alt. NO luck swift runs a thermo fan obviously so the waterpump pully is of no use..
Plan 2 was to use the pullys iv picked up from various altenators.. so i stripped the alt. down to get the multi groove off, cool, no worries, mixed and matched bits and pieces till i finally got a combination that looked like it would fit.. No luck collars in the way, different sized nuts, NOTHIN wanted to line up and to top it all off.. i fuked the 110 alt, when i stripped it down the second time my breaking off something inside so now im carless and more than likely have to take tomorrow off work and try source either a stock unit(not to keen) or again try my luck with the wreckers and hope I get something that works

If anyone in Melbourne has a spare stock alt. or a deent 110amp they are willing to part with, PM me. am DESPERATE(for the alt.) Iv got a feeling that the dodgy one i removed(stock) is the cause to the rough running of late!

yeh, i know that NOW.. (cheers B4T) but alas the alt. is now kaput, (inside there is a small bearing with what looks like its meant to have bushings run agains it!? them bushings are no longer there.. somewhat broken off )

yeh when ya got the right tools. unfortunatly I dont have a rattle gun, and the vice didnt like having a z50 motor started in it and decided to break.. so its what had to be done.. ( ended up pulling apart and using ratchet straps in the broken vice to hold it tight while i went to work with the socket.) got it off n done up all good.. the alt. only cost me $15. so I guess it was a cheap lesson...

shame the OP didnt know the origion of the pullys they ended up using.. (reading back mike suggested the swift multi groove, as did bog frog, who looks to be running a swift water pump and thermo fan, hence making the swift pullys work..)

sigh.. now i just gotta work out what the boss is gunna say bout an 'extra short week' i SO cant afford to have the day off GAR!

just put the stock one back on? carby cars dont run rough from wierd alternators, at worst they run better from higher voltage making bigger sparks

stock one has a cracked bracket, and IS rooted.. squeeels, its fuuked, isnt giving any charge. (see top pic from today)

all last week i dreaded each morning and afternoon, having to park on hills n roll start. The idle is up the shit to so stalling at lights is a regular occurance, if im lucky, i get the ambers iv got a 4k carb here that looks in ok condition, so if it is yet another carb issue causing the rough runnin.. then off with the suzi one n on with the rolla..

Don't know if this any use to anyone but I'm still looking to swap my single v pulley on my 110amp pulley for the stock multi-v one. This should make an easy swap for someone doing the 110 in their sierra 1.3.

Hey Foolsp33d did you get it sorted out today? Sorry if my build up wasn't complete in it's description but I've updated my build thread so this doesn't happen again, it was just a quick guide not a full step by step but all cool now anyways. its about 3/4 way down the first page Cheers Robb.

royce.. im GUESSING the regulator is fine.. il get a picture of the bit thats broken and if its of any use can pack it up and send it up to ya.. (although i got the feeling its probably cheaper to get a new one locally, but anythin to help a fellow zooker

fwiw, I picked up a second hand alt. yesterday at a out of the way(was at work) ford wreckers, for the measly sum of $40. a quick bypass to suziworld on the way home picked up the multi rib vitara waterpump pully, $20! now... if only it wasnt dark, cold, n wet outside.. id go put it back together n let ya know that its all goin good.. but i cant.. so it can wait LOL..
