After a long while out of action im getting the old girl back on the road with another 1lt.

I have a general question about what I should do next.
She is a daily drive, and wont see extreme 4x4 action..
Maybe a trip up to the surfing area outta perth (dunes, corry paths, boggy sand etc)

The current suspension is stock, almost inverted ive been told!
She is pretty sore on the arse after a while, so id like to get the comfort level as well as 4x4 elements improved..
She is currently running 215/75/15's (27's?)

I'm most likely going to keep her fairly stock in terms of re-sell for someone for her in a few years (maybe) - So i dont want anything to drastic..

I've been told to go for a 2" lift, new leafs and shocks etc..
Get some new seats..or get the existing re-upholstered?!?

Is there any or zook standard to go for, in terms of this kinda upgrade?
Ideally Id like to keep costs as low as possible without sacrificing the quality really..

Also.. Drivetrain options.. Lockers? Ive heard the term but dont really know what its all about?

EDIT - Did some reading on outta limits, Not sure if they are warrented or not? - Would welcome some feedback mind you!

If somone wouldnt mind dropping some info down, or hitting me up with some links that would be great..

lockers will always help you offroad. i have hear the term "1 locker will double your offroad ability" i had lockrite automatic lockers front and back in my NT sierra and always had problems wilh the back one.

a normal "open diff" will spin 1 wheel up, so if you do a burn out, it'll spin one wheel, and it always spins the wheel with the LEAST friction. when going off road, if you lift a wheel in the air, that wheel receives all the power, and the wheel on the floor receives no power. so if you lift opposite corners on your 4X4, the 2 wheels in the air receive the power and the 2 wheels on the floor receive none. and you stop moving forwards. thats bad. lockers will LOCK the diff, so no matter what happens, both wheels on that axle will always spin together. so if you have 2 lockers, all 4 wheels will always turn together.

thats a locker.

you can buy automatic lockers like 4wd systems lockrite, or manually operated ones like ARB air lockers.

auto lockers are cheaper,(by a fair bit) but its possible that the ARB is a better product.

Thanks mate, I think If I was going to invest heavily and give her the maximum love, id maybe consider investing, but not sure for my expected use its going to worth the cost!!

for the driving you have described lockers woundn't be necessary. and you said you have a 1 litre, you cannot get air lockers for the 1 litre diffs so it would have to be an auto locker of some sort. but I wouldn't worry if I were you.
yes lockers will get you further but gees you can still have plenty of fun without them, not to mention how far you can get if you drive it right.

a 2" lift will only ever be a good thing, I would recommend taking out the load leaf from each leaf pack before they go in, after market leaf packs are too stiff for a light weight sierra, pluck a leaf will fix this up.

tyres, my 1 litre with 30"s struggled on standard gearing, if your doing big hills or dunes, even lots of soft sand, dont go there unless you fit transfer gears

No probs, Cheers for that.. Yeh I hear that is the general go.. no bigger than a 235's for a 1lt engine.. My old engine served me well, she would push 100km/h for 40mins each way every day for about a year, then blew up.. silly really.. I wont be smashing it that hard again!!
