Not true. If it's maintained they will stop rust from forming in a new car. Mine was proof. The trick is to have more than ample pads on the body and chassis. Also if the wire is not the correct type the outer will break-down and the circuit will fail.

Always on... They'll flatten a battery in about a week if you don't start the car in the mean time!

Are you for real?
I have a 6 pad on my tow car and it may not get started for 4 to 6 weeks at a time and it starts fine?
Or am I reading what you wrote in correct?

Mine's the same, leave it for a week and no starty. 1.3 batteries are pretty small though. I have run mine off the auxiliary battery now. I have 5 pads in the Jimny 8O

I always find the nay-sayers on this topic to be a bit of a laugh. Especially those who haven't owned one. 10-15 years ago when they were still new on the public market I could understand scepticism and was sceptical myself, but now saying they don't work is like saying the world is flat.

If you'd rather spend your $500-$600 on a set of longer shocks that's fine and you should go for it, but why bag what you don't understand or what your dad told you doesn't work.

Well, in our case it is true, so people should be aware

What brand was it? Who installed it? Was it installed on a brand new vehicle? Just so people are aware

He is talking Surf Life Saving vehicles

even the companies say it wont prevent rust forming, just slow it heaps otherwise they would just need too much energy and it starts to be expensive

Oh Ok.
Sorry Bakerboy, I'm talking Private use, you're talking Commercial use.

Thats cool, I should have said, but yeah if people who do lots of beach work, I'd class it as commercial work and as such, will still need additional upkeep. I'll get the brand this weekend
