i have just done a g13 to g16 conversion and put a new clutch in.
the drama that i have is i keep braking clutch cables the first one lasted about
15 gear changes and the other ones that i have been able to scrounge up have busted as well.
is there anything i should look for? has this happened to anyone else?
is 42 really the answer.

the clutch is a rpm h/d and the original cable was a good one the second
was a fairly dodgy one and the third was a good second hand one. it was the cable outer bit that broke on all of them.

my theory on it is the outer gets hot and starts to go soft, then when you press the clutch the inner loads up the inside and stretches it and it goes to shit
I am trying to get a mega heavy duty one made up but like all shit, nah mate a suzuki cant need that we wont help

Some heat sheath slipped over the cable might help.

were in the car. i am going to put the standard clutch back in and see how
it goes. worst part is it will probably be two weeks until my new cable
gets here
i am now a web wheeler
i might have to get the wife's car bogged today, being mothers day and all that.

Some form of steel reinforced rubber hose slipped over the outer casing and then a heap of hose clamps put on the outside.

Is it just the outer that is heating up and failing you think? Surely not?
Maybe some kind of heatshield might help.

I think its a fair bit of extra pressure on the cable and the inner stretches it around the corner, combined with it not being real strong it lets go
I have had a crappy sierra cable in for a week and a bit now and while it seems to go crappy after adjusting it it hasnt let go yet
